The Black Hole
Predating the production of Star Wars, the Movie The Black Hole (originally known as “Space Probe One”) is a forgotten classic considered to be a landmark film in science fiction cinema. Because of it’s ground-breaking effects, The Black Hole was the most expensive picture Walt Disney Productions ever created prior to the year it was made, 1979. Robert McCall helped develop the unique look of the film that still inspires film-makers to this day. The Black Hole was Disney’s first PG-rated film and also marked the first time Disney had made a straight sci-fi movie.
